Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved and authorised by the Board of Directors in April 2025.
The statement sets down DENTON's commitment to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our business activities and the steps we have put in place with the aim of ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our own business and supply chains. We all have a duty to be alert to risks, however small. Staff are expected to report their concerns and management to act upon them.
We respect the human rights of all our employees and those within our supply chain and have zero tolerance for slavery and human trafficking.
Organisational structure and supply chains
This statement covers the business activities of DENTON, which are as follows:
DENTON is a privately owned business that designs and fits out commercial offices across the UK, with offices located in London, Manchester and Liverpool. DENTON directly employ a highly experienced team who design and project manage office fit-outs, and we subcontract all site trade works.
- Our Business is based in the UK however we have also completed projects in Dublin and Paris for existing customers. All our subcontractors are UK based however our subcontractor supply chain is worldwide. This means that, including our supply chains – several thousand people work on our projects in any single year.
- To ensure that modern slavery is not occurring in our business, we make sure all employees are paid above the minimum wage, and we comply with our obligations under minimum age laws and the Working Time Regulations 1998. We do not allow cash payments, and all payments are by bank transfer only. In addition, all employees are vetted for their right to work in this country.
Business and supply chain risk assessment and risk management
With the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act, we assess our supply chain for potential areas of increased risk of non-compliance to the Act. This is a continual process, where areas are identified, we will carry out an audit, which will include a focus on compliance with employment as well as other regulatory and sustainability criteria. The defined criteria for assessing potential areas of risk within our supply chain are:
- Companies that operate using temporary low-skilled labour;
- Operations outside of the UK / EU regulatory frameworks;
- Manufacturing or trading in raw materials produced in non-UK/EU areas;
Responsibility for the Company’s anti-slavery initiatives is as follows:
- Policies: the Operations Manager is responsible for creating and reviewing policies. The process by which policies are developed is looking at best practices and adapting to the needs of the Company.
- Risk assessments: the Health and Safety Manager is responsible for risk assessments in respect of human rights and modern slavery through a process of a pre-qualification of our supply chain.
- Due diligence: the Operations department is responsible for due diligence in relation to known or suspected instances of modern slavery and human trafficking.
Policies, compliance & training
Our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking statement reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking are not taking place anywhere in our business and supply chains.
- Our Operations personnel are responsible for ensuring compliance with this Statement and our Modern Slavery Policy and for updating and improving our procedures in forthcoming years.
- To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we will provide training to our staff to ensure staff can recognise and report on the risks of modern slavery.
Our effectiveness in combating slavery and human trafficking
