Overview
Another dynamic coworking space to support busy commuter life
DENTON are proud to deliver another project with multinational asset management company Schroders after completing the design and build for the creative, FITWEL award-winning Battersea Studio 1. DENTON was chosen to provide an EPC upgrade, refurbish the 1st, 4th and 5th floors to provide a fully fitted and furnished high-performance Cat A+ workspace, the reception and atrium for their premier office development, The Davidson Building. It is the ideal commuter location with excellent amenities both in the building, in the immediate neighbourhood, and a short walk from Reading Train station.

Solution
Creating a high-quality ready-to-work space to attract tenants
The client required a space that catered to a variety of working styles within the open-plan office. We incorporated a balance of sociable, collaborative, private, and focused spaces by working closely with the furniture team. High booths, which are acoustically designed to minimise noise and provide privacy, have been added to the space. Along with break-out benches to encourage impromptu collaborations throughout the day. Casual soft seating spaces with sheer curtains for semi-private conversations. Private phone booths allow people to take calls within the space without disturbing others.
The large boardroom makes an impressive, impactful space to host important meetings with the expansive window and glass wall. It also fills the office with natural light for an airy, open environment. The darker furnishings and walls pay homage to the outdoor atrium panelling and the light open palisades in the middle of the space. Soft, bench-style seating and high tables placed on the edge and outside the boardroom convert the space into a multifunctional entrance that allows for larger internal or external meetings.

Key Features
A space to build social capital
The newly designed breakout space and tea point with banquet-style seating allow teams to meet, whether for social gatherings or team meetings. Feature lighting, such as the eclectic pendants above the island in the breakout space, accompany the space’s contemporary look. This space helps to re-build social capital that may be lost when working from home.
The refurbishment of the reception and atrium draws inspiration from nature, providing an appealing and calming space for tenants. The simple, yet elegant pendant circular lighting is adorned with preserved foliage to bring life to the space and a beautiful feature for the centre of the building. The low-maintenance moss wall utilises preserved elements for visual impact. With nature-centric design in mind, strip lights have been added to elevator lobbies, and carpets have been replaced. This integration of design and nature transforms the Atrium into a rejuvenating haven that invigorates both the space and those within it.
