DENTON reimagined the Astellas workspace, focusing on enhancing collaboration and bringing employees together. The design introduced guest suites, breakout areas, a large town hall environment equipped with AV and a welcoming coffee and social hub to foster informal interactions and a more dynamic work culture. 

The project followed a ‘light-touch’ approach, incorporating sustainable design elements: 

• Existing partitions and furniture were retained and repurposed. 

• Executive suite desks and phone booths were reused, reducing waste and promoting sustainability. 

• The second floor served as a swing space, ensuring seamless transitions for employees. 
  

Astellas brought in its direct vendors for security and AV solutions, leveraging pre-existing relationships to ensure consistency and efficiency. While DENTON was not responsible for furniture procurement, we seamlessly integrated all elements into the design for a cohesive finish. 

Astellas’ strong brand guidelines influenced the interior aesthetic. DENTON worked within these parameters while adding creative elements: 

• A refined colour palette that aligned with Astellas’ corporate identity. 

• Three distinct manifestation patterns inspired by organic forms, offering a subtle nod to Japanese design heritage. 

• Biophilic design principles, incorporating natural light, organic elements, and greenery to enhance well-being. 

The project required careful adaptation of existing services to meet new design requirements while maintaining operational efficiency. Despite time constraints, DENTON successfully delivered a functional and aesthetically refined space that supports productivity and employee well-being.
